The title given to the phrase ‘Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā  Muḥammadin-wa āli Muḥammad’, which translates to ‘O Allah, send your blessings upon Muḥammad (ṣ) and the family of Muḥammad.’

Ṣalawat is recited in the tashahhud of ṣalāh (ritual prayers) and upon hearing or saying the name of the Noble Prophet (ṣ). Reciting ṣalawāt is a source of blessings in this world and the next.
